Food and food systems are once again being recognized as an
urban planning and governance concern. As awareness of the
connections between land use planning and local food systems
grows, greater attention is being placed on urban agriculture.
The purpose of this session will be to present and discuss
specific strategies used by two Pacific Northwest cities
(Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC) to integrate urban agriculture
into governance and planning processes.
